Harness

The software wrapper around a model: prompts, tool definitions, execution loop, memory policy, guardrails, and output handling.

A harness is not the model itself. The model is one component; the harness is the system that decides what the model can do and how work actually gets done.

Examples include products and runtimes like Amp, Claude Code, and similar coding-agent shells.
